Fasting the Six Days of Shawwal

It was narrated from Thaban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (sallahu alayhi wa salaam) that the Messenger of Allah said:”Whoever fasts six days after the Fitr will have completed the year, for whoever does a good deed will the reward of ten like it.” (Sahih) Ibn Majah Vol.2/ No.1715

It was narrated from Abu Ayyub that the Messenger of Allah said “ Whoever fasts Ramadan then follow it with six days of Shawwal it is as if he fasted for a life time.” (Sahih) Ibn Majah Vol.1/ 1716
