Poses Questions to Shaikh Muhammad Sa’eed Raslaan [may Allâh preserve him]

Q1: Oh! Noble Shaikh We have a publication here in America called Al-Hujjah Publication please advise us on what should be our focal point to our English speaking brothers and sisters in the west?

A1: Spreading the correct understanding of Islâm mainly in Aqeedah, Manhaj, and Fiqh of the religion and etiquettes of the Muslim when dealing with himself and others.

Q2: Oh! Noble Shaikh, Please advise us on how we should conduct ourselves here in America as far as working together for the Dawah?

A2: Firstly: I advise you with the Taqwa of Allâh in secret and in the open.

 As Allâh says: 

“O you who believe fear Allâh.”

Secondly: you should deal with each other with forgiveness and patients and good compartment just as Allâh says:

“Those who spend their wealth in good and bad times, those suppress the anger and rage, and those who pardon the people.”

And He says:

“By the mercy of your Lord you were gentle to them, had you been harsh and hard hearted the truly would have fled from around you.”

Also to advise your brother when he makes a personally mistake and not to talk about him behind his back keeping his wealth, blood and honor sacred. Advising him of whatever his mistake was with kindness and gentleness.

Q3: Oh! Noble Shaikh, What is the responsibility of the men in facilitating a sanctuary for their women and children [i.e. a place for recreation and enjoyment for the women and children) and how should they go about it?

A3: This is good if it is done in accordance to the Islamic principles. As far as going about it you guys are better aware of your situation then me, what is important is not to oppose the Quran and Sunnah in your affairs by staying away from the prohibitions of Islam in regards to mingling the sexes and other than that from that which is well known to you guys.

Q4: Oh! Noble Shaikh, What is the role of women in rectifying the society?

A4: The role of the women is very important, rather it is the most important role in the society because women are the first educators to the children in regards to commanding them with the good and forbidding them from evil.

Also, the women advise their husband’s with the good in a good manner; just as she does with those who are her sisters in the deen. And other then that from the many roles the women plays in the society.

Q5: Oh! Noble Shaikh, Many Muslims in the west disassociate themselves from Muslims who have no knowledge or do not understand the way of the Salaf. Note we are the minority in this country so should we take the position to boycott them or to have patients in calling them to the correct way?

A5: You should not help Shaitân against your brother by leaving him to the disbeliever and the deviant Muslims. Rather, you should be patient with him and try to clarify the truth to him or take him to someone who can wanting to increase the ranks of Ahlus-Sunnah not decrease them.

As Allâh says:

“Those who mutually advise each other with the truth and patients.”

Q6: Oh! Noble Shaikh, What is the difference between Hasid and Gyra?

A6: Gyra: Is to become angry for the Deen of Allâh when it has been violated.

Hasid: It wants to see a bounty that Allâh has bestowed upon an individual removed from them.

So in essence, that envier hate what Allâh loves and loves what Allâh hates, since Allâh wants that bounty to be bountiful for that individual, while the envier hates that bounty for that individual to have.

Q7: Oh! Noble Shaikh, Can a woman who is a virgin marry a man without her Wali’s approval?

A7: No women can marry any man except with a Wali, whether she is a virgin or have been married before, as Allâh says:  "Marry them with the permission of their families."
