Shaykh Muhammad Ramzaan was asked concerning testing the people...

As'Salamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh

Allaahu Akbar! Shaykh Muhammad Ramzaan was asked concerning testing the people with their position towards Shaykh Rabee and Shaykh 'Ubayd. He said, "Anyone who speaks ill of these scholars (Shaykh Rabee and Shaykh Ubayd) harbors animosity and evil within themselves. Then Shaykh Ramzaan said, "If there are differences amongst the Ulamah of Ahl Sunnah then it is not for the students of knowledge to speak. Rather the Scholars are the ones who speak in the affairs of the differing. And in regards to recent Fitan between the Ulamah. the Ulamah have rectified what is between them and yet still (ignorant) students of knowledge continue to speak and carry the fitnah!

Combining between Memorizing the Noble Qur’an and Seeking Knowledge

Q: How can we combine between memorizing the Noble Qur’an and seeking
knowledge?

A: Start with the Qur’an, reading it and perfecting its recitation. If you accomplish
this –may Allah aid you in seeking knowledge- this is a great bounty from Allah upon
you. The Qur’an will be ease for the one who (sincerely) wants it, for verily, Allah

the Most High says,

وََلَقدْ يَسَّرْنَا الُقرْآ َ ن للذِّكِْر َفهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكٍِر

“And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember,
then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?” [Al-Qamar: 17]

The Qur’an is the key to every (Islamic) science. Your perfection of its recitation
and memorizing it will open up for you areas of knowledge that only Allah knows
(best to what extent will benefit you).

The noble Scholar Shaikh Al-Baani said:

The Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said:

"The Best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it"

The Scholar Al-Baani (may Allah have mercy upon him said)

And in this Hadeeth is: a direction into learning The Quran, and that the best knowledge that a person can learn is learning the Quran.

So how wishful it is that the students of knowledge  would realize that. Because in it, is great benefit.

And from the calamities that have hit our era is that you find many of the callers or the beginners amongst the students of knowledge going into giving fatwa's (Islamic verdicts) and answering questions of people; while he hasn't even made good his recitation of Surât ul Fatihah from its proper recitation...'

Up to where he said..

'..so advice to myself and then to them is that; the best of what a student of knowledge begins on is memorizing The Quran'

How muslim Women or a Sick Men can pray eid prayer in home

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

الحمد الله ربَّ العالمين، وصلى الله وسلم على نبيه محمد و على آله وسلم تسليمًا كثيرًا مزيدًا.
أما بعد

The Eid prayer is an individual obligation (fard ‘ayn) for every man who is able to do it, according to the more correct of the two scholarly opinions,

If you cannot go to the prayer because of your health, then you do not have to do anything. But is it prescribed to do it at home? There is a difference of opinion among the fuqaha’ concerning that, but the majority are of the view that that is prescribed, unlike the Hanafis.

Al-Muzni narrated from al-Shaafa’i (may Allah have mercy on him) in Mukhtasar al-Umm (8/125): He may offer the Eid prayer on his own in his house, as may the traveller, the slave and the woman. End quote.

Al-Kharashi (Maaliki) said: It is mustahabb for the one who has missed the Eid prayer with the imam to offer this prayer, but should he do it in congregation or separately? There are two opinions. End quote from Sharh al-Kharashi (2/104).

Al-Mardaawi said in al-Insaaf (Hanbali): If he has missed the prayer (meaning the Eid prayer), it is mustahabb to him to make it up in the same manner (i.e., as the imam prayed it). End quote.

Ibn Qudaamah said in al-Mughni (Hanbali): He has the choice: if he wishes he may pray it on his own, and if he wishes he may pray it in congregation. End quote.

In al-Durr al-Mukhtaar ma’a Haashiyat Ibn ‘Aabideen (2/175 – Hanafi) it says: He should not pray it on his own if he has missed it with the imam. End quote.

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah favoured the Hanafi view, and it was also regarded as more correct by Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him), as it says in al-Sharh al-Mumti’ (5/156).

In Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah li’l-Iftaa (8/306) it says: Eid prayer is a communal obligation (fard kifaayah): if it is undertaken by enough people, the sin of not doing it is waived from the rest.

If a person misses it and wants to make it up, it is mustahabb for him to do that, so he should pray it in the proper manner but without a khutbah following it. This is the view of Imam Maalik, al-Shaafa’i, Ahmad, al-Nakha’i and other scholars. The basic principle concerning that is the words of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): “If you come to the prayer then come walking, calmly and with dignity. Whatever you catch up with, pray, and whatever you miss, make it up.” And it was narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that if he missed the Eid prayer with the imam, he would gather together his family and freed slaves, then his freed slave ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Abi ‘Utbah would stand up and lead them in praying two rak’ahs, saying the takbeers in them. If a person arrives on the day of Eid when the imam is delivering the khutbah, he should listen to the khutbah, then make up the prayer after that, so that he may combine both benefits. And Allah is the source of strength. May Allah send blessings and peace upon Prophet Muhammad and his family and Companions. End quote.

The Rule on Turning on the Qur’ân tape in an Unsuitable Atmosphere

Question Four: What is the ruling on those individuals who are busy talking, while the Qur’ân is being recited on the tape? Will they be sinning for not listening to the recitation of the Qur’ân or is it the one who turned on the Qur’ân who will be held accountable for that?
Answer Four: The answer to this question differ based on the gathering in which the Qur’ân is being recited from the tape. If that gathering is a gathering of seeking knowledge, remembrance of Allâh and recitation of Qur’ân, then in this case, it is obligatory upon whoever is present in that gathering to be quiet and listen carefully; otherwise he will be sinning against Allâh for not applying the statement of Allâh the Almighty:

“So, when the Qur'ân is recited, listen to it, and be silent that you may receive mercy.” [i.e. during the compulsory congregational prayers when the Imâm [of a mosque] is leading the prayer [except Sûrat Al-Faatihah], and also when he is delivering the Friday-prayer Kutbah]. [Tafsir At-Tabari]

But if the gathering is not a gathering of knowledge or remembrance of Allâh or recitation of Qur’ân [during the compulsory congregational prayers when the Imâm [of a mosque] is leading the prayer], but a normal place, for instance if the individual is in his house doing some kind of work, or studying, or reading; in this situation it is not permissible for him to turn on the Qur’ân tape loud because these individuals who are in the house or the gathering are not obliged to listen because they are not there for that. And the one who turned on the radio will be the one who will be held accountable for that.
That is because he in this case is disturbing the people and obliges them to listen to the Qur’ân in a condition that is not suitable for them.

The closest example to give on this issue is for instance: one of us maybe walking in the street and may hear the grocer or the merchant or some of those who sell the Qur’ân tapes blasting the whole street with their Qur’ân tape in a manner that no matter where you go you still will hear the recitation. So, are all those who are walking in that street obliged to listen to this recitation that is not done at its proper place? No, rather the one who will be held accountable is the one who disturbs the people and forces them to listen to the Qur’ân for the purpose of business or to draw the attention of the people or for some materialistic goal. In this case these people are considered as those who take the Qur’ân as a flute, as has come in some authentic narrations. So consequently, they barter the revelations of Allâh for a small gain from another method different from the methods of the Jews and the Christians those whom Allâh spoke in their regard in this verse:“They have purchased with the Ayât [proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.] of Allâh a little gain, and they hindered men from His Way; evil indeed is that which they used to do.”

Giving Salaam to One Person (As-Salaamu Alayk)

Shaykh Al-Uthaymeen(may Allah rest him in Jannah) was asked about the description of Salaam.
He (may Allah have mercy upon him)answered by saying,” Say As-salaamu Alayk if you are greeting one person and As-Salaamu- Alaykum if you are greeting a group of people. The proof for this is found in the hadeeth about the man who came to the masjid and didn’t pray correctly. After finishing he went to Allah’s messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, “As-Salaamu Alayk ya Rasulallah”- Peace be on to you oh Messenger of Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned the greetings. Then he(peace and blessings be upon him)said,” Redo your prayer; as you didn’t pray correctly.”[1]

Now if you are giving the greetings to two people then say,” As-salaamu Alaykum. It is permissible to greet two people using the plural tense. And if you are greeting your mother how would you greet her? Say As-salaamu Alaykee ya ummi-peace be on you mommy. Why? Because whenever you talk to a female the Kaf(كِ )takes a kasra.

If you entered in a room and greeted your aunts and there were four or five of them, how would you greet them? You would say,” As-salaamu Alaykunna wa Rahmahtullahi wa barakatahu.”  The Kaf (ك )follows suit to the person being addressed .i.e (ك, كم, كن  (

How does a Muslim reply to someone who says to him “ As-salaamu Alaykum  wa Rahmahtullahi wa barakatahu, or Salaamu Alayk. The person responds by saying,” As-salaamu Alayk  wa Rahmahtullahi wa barakatahu.” as well. There is no harm in doing this. It is important to say As-Salaamu Alayk. Is it wrong to say,” Alaykumus Salaam wa rahmahtullahi wa barakatahu? Does a person say it with the wa ( و ) or without it? To say it either way is fine, but it is better to say Wa alaykum As-salaam.”

What do we say about the person who replies to our greeting with greetings like; “Welcome, May Allah preserve you come in, Today is a happy day, This is one of the best days, or May Allah grant you success, increase your knowledge, piety and guidance etc. Are these legitimate replies to the greeting-As-salaamu alaykum? Even though he extended a reply; I say (Shaykh Uthaymeen) if a person filled up the earth with every reply possible it could never take the place of “Alaykus salaam”. And while replying without this word he is a sinner. To reply with Salaam or one better is an obligation for the Muslim. This is taken from Allah’s verse,

وَإِذَا حُيِّيتُمْ بِتَحِيَّةٍ فَحَيُّوا بِأَحْسَنَ مِنْهَا أَوْ رُدُّوهَا

“When you are greeted with a greeting, greet in return with what is better than it, or (at least) return it equally.” [ an-Nisa’I 86 ]

Is there a Reward for Reading Hadeeth?

Is there a Reward for Reading Hadeeth?

From Shaykh, Allaama, Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdul Azeez bin Abdullaah Bin Baz
Translated by Umm Yahya

The Noble Shaykh Bin Baz -Rahimullaah- was asked:
‘The reward for reciting the Book of Allaah is evident. Is there a reward for reading Hadeeth too?’
The Shaykh replied:
‘There is a great reward for reading the Noble Qur’an in terms of coming closer to Allaah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, as is reading and memorizing the Hadeeth of the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam. And this is because it is worship of Allaah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala (in pursuit of) acquiring knowledge and a greater understanding of the religion.
Evidence in the Shariah indicates that seeking knowledge and gaining an understanding of the religion is obligatory in order for the slave to worship His Lord upon firm knowledge (Baseerah)
An example of this evidence is the saying of the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam:
‘Whoever Allaah wills good for He grants them the understanding of the Deen (religion)’ And he said:
‘The best of you are those who learn the Qur’aan and teach it’
And the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam said:
‘Whoever treads a path seeking knowledge on that path, then Allaah makes the path to paradise easy for him due to his seeking knowledge, and no group of people gather in one of the houses of Allah reciting the Book of Allaah and studying it, except tranquillity descends and they are covered with Mercy and the angels surround them and Allaah mentions them to those who are close to Him’ And there are many Hadeeth regarding the virtues of reciting the Qur’aan such as the saying of the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam:
‘Recite the Qur’aan for verily it will come as an intercession for the one who recites it on the Day of Resurrection’ Collected by Muslim
And one day the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam came out and said:
‘Who would like to go to Bathaan (a valley in Medina) or to al-Aqeeq (a valley in Makkah) and return with two great female camels, without sinning and without severing the ties of kinship?’ So we said: ‘O Messenger of Allaah we would love that’
He -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said:
‘If one of you went to the masjid and learnt or read two Ayaat from the Book of Allah Azza wa Jal (that) is better for him than two female camels and three Ayaat are better than four female camels and in addition to that the same amount in male camels’ As is collected by Imam Muslim in ‘Saheeh Muslim’ and this is an evidence concerning the virtue of reciting the Qur’aan and teaching it.
There is (another) famous Hadeeth from Ibn Mas’ood which is collected in ‘Jamia Tirmidhi’ with a Hassan (good) chain of narrators that the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said:
‘Whoever reads one letter from the Book of Allaah he gets one reward for it and one reward is equivalent to ten times the reward of it.’
And it is the same for reading the Sunnah, if a believer learns it by reading the Ahadeeth and studying them and memorizing them, distinguishing the authentic from the non authentic, then he will receive a great reward. This is because this is considered acquiring knowledge, concerning which the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said:
‘Whoever treads a path seeking knowledge on that path, then Allaah makes the path to paradise easy for him due to his seeking knowledge, and no group of people gather in one of the houses of Allaah reciting the Book of Allaah and studying it, except tranquility descends and they are covered with Mercy and the angels surround them and Allaah mentions them to those who are close to Him’
This is proof of reading the Ayaat and reflecting upon them, studying Hadeeth and memorizing them, desiring knowledge and (desiring) an understanding of the religion and acting upon it (consequently) is from (one of the reasons) for entering paradise and being saved from the hell-fire. As the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said:
‘Whoever Allah wills good for He grants them the understanding of the Deen (religion)’
There is a consensus with regard to its authenticity and it clarifies the virtue of knowledge and seeking it, and that is a sign of goodness as we clarified earlier. And the understanding of the Deen is attained through the Book (The Qur’aan) and through the Sunnah (Hadeeth) therefore (attaining the) understanding the Sunnah is a sign that Allah has intended goodness for His slave, there is a lot of evidence to substantiate (this point).
All Praise is for Allah Lord of the worlds

Al-Hujjah Publication Poses Questions to Shaikh Muhammad Sa’eed Raslaan

Al-HUJJAH publication
Poses Questions to Shaikh Muhammad Sa’eed Raslaan [may Allâh preserve him]

Q1: Oh! Noble Shaikh We have a publication here in America called Al-Hujjah Publication please advise us on what should be our focal point to our English speaking brothers and sisters in the west?
A1: Spreading the correct understanding of Islâm mainly in Aqeedah, Manhaj, and Fiqh of the religion and etiquettes of the Muslim when dealing with himself and others.

Q2: Oh! Noble Shaikh, Please advise us on how we should conduct ourselves here in America as far as working together for the Dawah?
A2: Firstly: I advise you with the Taqwa of Allâh in secret and in the open.
 As Allâh says:
“O you who believe fear Allâh.”

Secondly: you should deal with each other with forgiveness and patients and good compartment just as Allâh says:
“Those who spend their wealth in good and bad times, those suppress the anger and rage, and those who pardon the people.”
And He says:
“By the mercy of your Lord you were gentle to them, had you been harsh and hard hearted the truly would have fled from around you.”
Also to advise your brother when he makes a personally mistake and not to talk about him behind his back keeping his wealth, blood and honor sacred. Advising him of whatever his mistake was with kindness and gentleness.

Q3: Oh! Noble Shaikh, What is the responsibility of the men in facilitating a sanctuary for their women and children [i.e. a place for recreation and enjoyment for the women and children) and how should they go about it?
A3: This is good if it is done in accordance to the Islamic principles. As far as going about it you guys are better aware of your situation then me, what is important is not to oppose the Quran and Sunnah in your affairs by staying away from the prohibitions of Islam in regards to mingling the sexes and other than that from that which is well known to you guys.

Q4: Oh! Noble Shaikh, What is the role of women in rectifying the society?
A4: The role of the women is very important, rather it is the most important role in the society because women are the first educators to the children in regards to commanding them with the good and forbidding them from evil.
Also, the women advise their husband’s with the good in a good manner; just as she does with those who are her sisters in the deen. And other then that from the many roles the women plays in the society.

Q5: Oh! Noble Shaikh, Many Muslims in the west disassociate themselves from Muslims who have no knowledge or do not understand the way of the Salaf. Note we are the minority in this country so should we take the position to boycott them or to have patients in calling them to the correct way?
A5: You should not help Shaitân against your brother by leaving him to the disbeliever and the deviant Muslims. Rather, you should be patient with him and try to clarify the truth to him or take him to someone who can wanting to increase the ranks of Ahlus-Sunnah not decrease them.
As Allâh says:
“Those who mutually advise each other with the truth and patients.”

Q6: Oh! Noble Shaikh, What is the difference between Hasid and Gyra?
A6: Gyra: Is to become angry for the Deen of Allâh when it has been violated.
Hasid: It wants to see a bounty that Allâh has bestowed upon an individual removed from them.
So in essence, that envier hate what Allâh loves and loves what Allâh hates, since Allâh wants that bounty to be bountiful for that individual, while the envier hates that bounty for that individual to have.

Q7: Oh! Noble Shaikh, Can a woman who is a virgin marry a man without her Wali’s approval?
A7: No women can marry any man except with a Wali, whether she is a virgin or have been married before, as Allâh says:  "Marry them with the permission of their families."

More questions and answers to come…Insha’Allâh
